It's been almost 3 months since I noticed symptoms around my genital area. A feeling of both wetness and dryness, my skin feeling like it's been peeling away and burning like chemical burns, a stabbing irritation below the surface of the skin feeling like something sharp like a razor blade cutting through, bubbling sensations going through the urethra, and tenderness to the vaginal opening. I've tried various medications, some over the counter and some prescribed, and a number of tests sent to the hospital. It was confirmed I did have a yeast infection and there was also 2 kinds of bacteria discovered which were all treated for, however nothing has resolved the pain and discomfort I've felt which gradually gets worse as the day goes by and even more when I'm sat upright.
I saw a new doctor a few days ago and he spoke of 2 possible causes for the pain - kidney stones and vulvodynia. I did think it was vulvodynia at first but now these pains I'm noticing in the urethra are starting to make me think it's kidney stones despite I didn't feel any pain in the kidneys, at least not until I got home after walking to and from the GP office. My kidneys hurt for a day along with my legs and other parts of my back due to me not being active. I've noticed the pain in the urethra is scratchy as if there's a bit of grit stuck in there scratching away at my insides and a sharp prickly sensation that's thrashing around the whole area and even as far as the anus as if an angry wasp is thrashing away at my insides. Last night I was woken several times in the night feeling that same sharp and scratchy sensation. I went to the toilet and felt a sharp prick at the tip of my urethra. When I wiped myself down I noticed a pink spot on the toilet paper.
Today that scratchiness still hasn't gone. I felt cold and wet in my private area and went to pat myself down before urinating to see if there was something there. There was a small amount of pink tinged discharge. After using the toilet and wiping down the tissue was stained a light pink. I guess I must be bleeding inside, but it's difficult to tell if this is from whatever is cutting away at my insides or if it's possibly the start of a period. I still haven't had a period since last August but there's 0 chance of me being pregnant. I was diagnosed as having polycistic ovaries in December after the hospital did a scan and discovered folicles around the ovaries. They also noticed one ovary was larger than the other. I'm not sure what the latter means.
On top of all of this my left wrist hurts and my upper left arm/shoulder hurts. The shoulder's been sore since all this started with my genital pain, the wrist was a little later but I can't exactly say when. It's been getting gradually worse and yesterday was the worst I felt it. Flexing the wrist hurts like a sprain, but there's no swelling and no sprain took place as far as I can tell. Yesterday and the day before I could feel a vein or ligament from the side thumb down through the thick part of the palm to the right side of the wrist which was very tender to touch and is no doubts the cause of the pain. Today I can't feel that sensitivity but the wrists still hurts to flex it. As for the arm there's sensitivity somewhere around the muscle on the left side. Sudden movements or attempts to stretch the arm cause it to feel like a knife is lodged in the arm and jabs me when I move it. The pain is either a quick sharp jab or it leaves a lingering stabbing ache that radiates down the arm and lasts around a minute.
Lately I've had a lot of episodes where I can feel pressure building up in my head and ears. I have tinnitus which sounds like an extremely high pitched white noise but I can also hear a whooshing noise and a loud chime that pulsates when the pressure builds up and that white noise gets louder. Everything around me starts to sound distant and deafened by the noise with a feeling like I'm leaving my body and my head begins to feel light and I start to lose my balance as if I'm going to slam to the floor. I haven't had a blackout however since I was in my teens when a similar issue used to happen often in the morning usually when I stood up ready to go to school, although this was accompanied with my vision tunnelling and everything looking as if stretched down a long corridor. One time it happened I decided to try to fight it. My body started to shake involuntarily and I became paralyzed. I think my eyes rolled up and my body plumetted to the floor. I was maybe only out for a second but it scared me never to fight it like that again. I don't know why I keep having these episodes. I think it might be vestibular migraines but I should probably get a diagnosis to confirm it. It seems to also happen in my sleep. I've woken up a few times to it happening with me also dreaming of it and I'm holding my breath in my dreams thinking it'll help, but at the same time I'm holding my breath in my sleep too. I should probably also mention this to my GP next time I see him. I know he'll say it's sleep apnea but I wanna know what's causing it.
